CLRA License / Contract Labour License

The Contract Labour Regulation and Abolition (CLRA) License is a legal document issued by the appropriate government authority. It authorizes an establishment to engage contract labor and ensures compliance with labor laws.

Any establishment or contractor employing 20 or more contract laborers on any day of the preceding 12 months is required to obtain a CLRA License under the Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Act, 1970. Validity period of a CLRA License?

The CLRA License is generally valid for one year. It needs to be renewed annually by applying for renewal with the relevant authorities.

The CLRA License is non-transferable. If there is any change in the ownership or management of the establishment, a fresh application for the license is required.
